This Mess Night will be an extravagant and faithful recreation of a 1920 British military dinner attended by Winston S. Churchill.

The dinner has been recreated and adapted by the New York Athletic Club Executive Chef John S. Shirley and Chef Lucas Billheimer from the Parlor Steakhouse, New York City under the guidance of Chef Agostino von Hassell.

History of Mess Night
Sir Winston Churchill attended that 1920 dinner and signed, in pencil, the
menu reproduced in this Mess Night’s program.

Rules of the Mess
The rules and fines of the Mess Night offer an opportunity for some fun, good-humored retaliation and mild antics, and in the case of this event, all geared to support a very worthy cause.
